Magazine Advert 2nd Draft

This is the 2nd draft of the magazine advert, using the editing techniques I mentioned in the previous post. I had the change the layout of the text because of the different colouring on the sky, however I still kept the same font and font colour as this is Taylor Swifts style.

Images for the Ancillary Task Magazine Advert

These are the images I took to be used for the magazine advert, I will be editing them in Photoshop. The teddy bear image will be the same image used in the digipak which Bethan is doing.

I will cut out the teddy bear using the magnetic lasso tool and I will also crop down the image of the sky. Then I will move both images on the image of the grass. I will re size the teddy bear with the transform tool and move it to the centre of the image. The sky will start just under the middle of the page till the top.
After I have done this I will make all the images black and white by selecting each layer separately and going to image, adjustments, black and white. To get the exaggerated black and white as I did in the one using online images I will change the exposure levels accordingly.

Research for the Magazine Advert

I found the research for the magazine advert was very hard this was because in all the magazine adverts I bought there wasn't anything for advertising albums. However there was plenty on advertisements for upcoming concerts and tours (as shown below) so I feel that if my magazine advert was to be published it would go alongside these adverts.

The magazine advert would feature in magazines such as Q or Uncut as these magazines feature music from different genres which include country which is Taylor Swifts genre for this song. Magazines such as Kerrang wouldn't be suitable for the magazine advert as Kerrang is for a specific genre magazine.

The Magazine Advert 2nd Draft

This is the 2nd draft of the magazine advert, this time I used images from the internet to create the advert. For the actual advert I will use original images and the teddy will be the one from our production. The font is from a font generator from the internet which is the font we will actually be using in the final version of the advert.

The 1st Paper Draft of the Magazine Ad

This is the 1st paper draft of the magazine advert, I have included the record label, the album cover and the release date which are all conventional thing in actual ads. I wanted to use the teddy as it symbolises innocence and youth. The teddy is also used in the our production, so the theme of innocence it linked between the ad and the production. The backdrop is a field which I wanted to use to suggest some freedom which the younger sister in our production wants. This freedom is unatanable due to the fact that she is too young to leave (once again a link to the teddy). The artists name and the song title will be in a cloud once again suggesting that the younger sister's dream to be free and safe is unatainable because you can't reach a cloud.

Ancillary Task - Magazine Advert

For the ancillary task Bethan and I have decided to do the digipak and the magazine advert individually. Bethan is doing the digipak so you will find all the planning for that on her blog, whereas I am doing the magazine ad. Even though we are doing this individually we have discussed the ideas we had for each task and changed and adapted our original ideas according to what the other thought as well. Below is the mind map I did for the ideas for the task, we decided to us the teddy in the ad and in the digipak as well to add some continuity.
